High level finishes are well underway throughout the Centre with the spotted gum timber cladding beginning to make its way along the Level 3 shopfronts. We have also successfully completed the high level structural steel painting within the Atrium food court!

In Zone 2 the final set of escalators have been installed and commissioning has commenced. Tiling has also progressed well on Level 2 which has completely transformed this area of the mall!

The commercial office development is racing towards completion!

Externally, the removal of the scaffold has unveiled the facade, and with the lights switched on the project is a now a striking display of an evening.

Internally, the construction of the feature central stair is ongoing and the skylight installation complete. The office space works continue to progress.

The Merrifield team were excited to see the final Coles concrete pour completed last week under the new roof.

The retail area works continue to progress with the feature saw tooth roof taking shape.

The Woodlea team have continued their good momentum.

The main structure, including precast and structural steel, for Lot 1 has been erected. Tenancy slabs throughout the Lot 1 building are continuing to progress despite some challenging weather recently. And the Kingspan roofing has been lifted to roof level with installation soon to begin.

Footings are complete to the Lot 2 building and slab preparations are underway for the ground floor pour.

Lastly, in-ground services for Coles are nearing completion in anticipation for internal slab preparations.

The team have had a great start to the Porsche & Volkswagen Training Facilities project, with the Porsche in-ground services, precast panels and structural steel all complete, allowing the roofer to commence onsite just in time to battle winter!

At Volkswagen, all of the below slab services and footings are now complete in preparation for the precast concrete panels and structural steel.

Maben Group are excited to announce that we have been appointed head contractor for the Porsche & Volkswagen Training Facilities which is our seventh project at Essendon Fields!

The project involves the construction of two separate training facilities for Porsche Cars Australia and Volkswagen Group Australia situated on the Eastern side of the Auto Centro Precinct, next door to our previous project Kia Regional Office. Construction commenced in February 2020, with a fast pace construction programme targeting a Porsche handover in late August 2020 and late November 2020 for Volkswagen.

The training facilities are equipped with offices, classrooms and practice/practical training rooms complete with hoist equipment.

Maben Group look forward to working closely with Essendon Fields, CBRE, Era Architects, Simpson Kotzman, Spencer Group, Porsche Cars Australia and Volkswagen Group Australia on another innovative project.

Full steam ahead at our Ringwood project with base build works nearing completion and the internal fit out well underway.

The Merrifield City structure is starting to take shape with structural steel commencing to the retail area.

Works on the saw tooth roof have also begun, with the team working hard into the late afternoon yesterday.

With the recent opening of the new Big W escalators to the public, the Highpoint team have continued momentum with areas of the Centre seeing significant progress.

In Zone 3 tile demolition has reached the Level 2 Big W node whilst the tilers are busy on Level 3 completing the final infills against the new balustrade.

Demolition works to the Zone 1 Level 3 bulkhead are now complete, and new bulkheads to tenancy shopfronts are starting to take shape, with framing ready for spotted gum cladding and feature awning installation.
