CLEC Stage 2

Maben Group have collaborated with MALA Studio and Development Victoria for a second time to deliver a new recreational and cultural public space in Melbourne’s Docklands.
The second stage of the project comprises a multi-purpose sports court, exercise stations, ping pong tables, daybeds, seats, gardens and green open spaces. The site also houses Amanda Levete’s 2015 MPavilion which Maben relocated during Stage 1 of the project in 2016.
Maben worked closely with MALA Studio to tie in the materials and themes of Stage 1, providing new pedestrian
paths and seating areas near the multi-purpose sports courts. All the timbers used in the project were salvaged
from the recently demolished Docklands North Wharf, less than 400m from the CLEC site.
Maben is proud to be associated with the completion of Stage 2 – providing another Docklands space for people and activity.
