Adjacent to the Ringwood train station and opposite the iconic Eastland Shopping Centre, EastCo will be the largest commercial building in Ringwood.

With an approximate base build value of $63M, the 10-storey Fender Katsalidis designed commercial tower includes 4 levels of multi-storey carpark and 6 levels of commercial office space, with the addition of ground floor customer service centre, end of trip facilities and a roof top sky deck.

The project also includes a fully integrated peckvonhartel fitout for the Department of Transport with a value of $35M approx.

The building will provide approximately 28,000sqm of floor space for the tenant and 278 on site car spaces within the 4 levels of carparking. The design includes an insitu concrete structure with full curtain wall façade to the office floors, and a bespoke carpark façade allowing for natural ventilation and low iron double height ground floor lobby glazing.

As part of the post contract award process with QIC, there was a 7 week Project Development Phase (PDP) involving all consultants. The primary focus of the PDP was for Maben to lead the Project Team in advancing the tender design utilising not only Maben’s experienced personnel but also the subcontractor network available to Maben.

In doing so, Maben also identifed key items that were Value Engineered and implemented by QIC.

Significant consideration was given to the planning and management of all internal and external traffic management for this complex project.

Detailed traffic management plans were developed in consultation with VicRoads, Public Transport Victoria and Metro Trains prior to construction to establish proposed traffic flow protocols required for this project.

Works commenced in June 2020 and are expected for completion in April 2022.
