Maben Group was engaged by GPT Group to manage the design and construction of the aesthetic upgrade project at Highpoint Shopping Centre.
The project involved the aesthetic upgrade of over 10,000sqm of public shopping malls over levels 2 & 3. The scope of work in each zone included the replacement of all floor finishes, ceiling and soffit treatments, structural modifications to voids, upgrade of balustrades, feature lighting, service modifications and replacement of vertical transportation.
All works commenced after hours within a live and operating shopping centre environment and required a safe transition from the construction to retail trading environment each morning.
Maben was engaged under a Design and Construct Contract and provided extensive design development and value engineering advice throughout the progress of the works to achieve the stringent budget constraints set by GPT. The multiple staging of the works resulted in many design modifications and alterations evolving throughout the course of the works and specifically through the design development phase for each zone.
Despite the challenging nature of the site and COVID-19 disruptions, our team completed the project to a very high level of finish within 19 months.
