Maben Group was engaged under a design and construction contract to manage the delivery of the Pacific Epping Childcare Development project, and the appointment was the fourth stage of work at Pacific Epping for our team.
Extensive demolition of the carpark, existing precast façade structure, and various tenancies was necessary for an extension to the existing centre.
Works involved the creation of six new retail tenancies, reconfiguration of the main entrance mall, and significant modification to Aldi and The Reject Shop.
A suspended two-level structure was added incorporating Crunch Fitness Gym on the ground floor
and a Goodstart Early Learning Childcare Facility on the upper level. The childcare centre incorporated offices, early learning facilities, classrooms, catering, and extensive outdoor play areas.
The project incorporated several staged handovers for various tenancies and common areas, with all works carried out within the operational environment of the shopping centre. Public access and trade to all existing tenancies were maintained throughout the project through a series of elevated walkways and tunnels.
Maben commenced on site in April 2018. The gym, upgraded mall entry, and new carpark areas opened before the December Christmas trade, and the childcare facility was handed over in February 2019.
