The eighth floor of 14 – 20 Blackwood Street in North Melbourne, has been completely transformed to become the nation’s first dedicated facility for men with prostate cancer and related health issues.
This project is unique in that its development was dependent on construction companies donating their time and their materials. This is something that Maben Group, amongst various other construction companies, was more than happy to contribute to in support of a very important cause.
The centre has ten consulting spaces, all-purpose fitted to address a range of possible issues such as prostate cancer testing, and physiotherapy. There is a gym with monitoring equipment, which allows physiologists and health staff to work with patients to help improve their physical condition. Importantly, there is a state-of-the-art tissue banking and laboratory facility, which ensures all tests, samples, and biological materials can be preserved and analysed as required.
